Objectives
- Conduct a feasibility study on the adoption of an international community-based mental health crisis alternative model for young people in Canada.
- Mobilize knowledge gained from the study across Frayme’s national network to support scaling and adoption efforts.
Approach | Strategies
- Identified and collated existing evidence of the impact of community programs on diverting young people from emergency services.
- Identified and trained youth with lived experience as Peer Researchers to inform and conduct desk-based and field-based research.
- Brought together leading groups in Canada to design and test a “Made for Canada” crisis alternative model based on the collected data.
Outcomes | Results
Our feasibility study aimed to provide insights into the potential adoption of an international community-based mental health crisis alternative model in Canada. It will inform Frayme’s national network and support efforts to scale and adopt the model across the country.
