CULTURAL BROKERAGE PROGRAM: EVALUATION REPORT

The 2020 evaluation report for the Cultural Brokerage Program (CCBP), covering November 2019 to October 2020, used a mixed-method approach with case reports, surveys, interviews, and observations to assess outcomes. CCBP, a collaboration between Calgary Catholic Immigration Society (CCIS) and Alberta’s Ministry of Children’s Services, was established in 2014 to provide culturally responsive support for immigrant families involved with Children’s Services. Cultural Brokers, often multilingual and with lived immigrant experience, facilitate understanding and support for these families. Additionally, Family Violence (FV) Brokers educate families about family violence and access to resources, with Apartment 1310 offering temporary housing and programming for perpetrators required to separate from their families.
